PKCT is the major coal facility in southern NSW for the transfer of coal from rail and road to ship.
The objective of the Phase 2 works is to refurbish rails 3, 4 and 5 with a new improved rails system design through a multi staged process.
This multi staged remove and install process is designed to minimise through-put losses for the Port Kembla Coal Terminal whilst refurbishing this important asset.
Project scope involves:
- undertaking detailed design, manufacture and supply of rail system supports
- removal of existing crane rail infrastructure and installation of rails 3, 4 and 5 through six staged shutdowns
- installation, testing and commissioning of new crane rail system
- installation and testing of rail earthing system
